***ATTENTION: ***

Beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2024, applicants may schedule a LIHEAP Fall Subsidy Pre-Registration appointment for October 21, 2024 though November 4, 2024. PRE-REGISTRATION IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO APPLICANTS WHO RECEIVE A FIXED INCOME AND ARE OVER 60 YEARS OF AGE OR ARE DISABLED. YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF FIXED INCOME.

The LIHEAP Fall Subsidy Component will begin November 5, 2024 and will operate through December 20, 2024, or until funds are depleted, WHICHEVER comes first. You may make an appointment using this scheduler beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2024

Scheduler Notes

When making an appointment, please make sure you enter your account number and complete all steps in order to obtain your confirmation number. After scheduling an appointment, be sure to either upload your documents PRIOR to your appointment OR bring your documents with you to your appointment. Required documentation is listed in more detail below.

Appointments can be changed or canceled at any time via this website. You may also make, change, or cancel an appointment at any time (24/7) using our automated phone system by dialing (606) 729-4000 and following the instructions.

Applicants must be Clay, Jackson, Laurel or Rockcastle County residents with a household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines. 

Eligibility for all programs is subject to program calendars, fund availability, appointment availability, verifiable household income, and family size.

 

List of Documents to Provide

Failure to provide all required documentation will delay your assistance. 

For the LIHEAP Fall Subsidy Component, the following documents are required:

  • The most recent copy of an electric bill that includes your name, service address, and account number or verification from your landlord that electricity is included in your rent.  If you participate in the Pre-Pay Electric Program, please present the statement from the utility company which includes the account number, address and name on the account. . NOTE: If you are applying for wood, coal, propane, kerosene, or fuel oil you will NEED to bring in a copy of your most recent heating source bill as well.
  • Social Security card(s) or official documentation with social security numbers (or Permanent Resident/Green Card) for everyone living in the household
  • Proof of household income from the previous month or proof of zero income including these examples:
    • Check stubs (MUST have all check stubs showing pay dates and gross income for the calendar month prior to your appointment date and verification that you did not receive the maximum number of checks issued by your employer)

    • Current SSI/Social Security Award letter
    • Unemployment Check Stubs
    • For Zero Income: Current Food Stamp Award Letter
  • Examples of items which cannot be accepted are previous LIHEAP applications, bank statements, copies of benefit checks, and 1099 tax forms. We cannot accept Medical Coverage Letters as proof of other income.

Additional Notes

Within minutes of making your appointment, you should receive a confirmation email with a calendar appointment attached to the email. In addition, you will also receive a text reminder the day before your appointment.
